Food and drink took center stage this year. Beyond our signature Josper-charcoal grilled dishes and local Northumbrian seafood served inside The Beaumont Restaurant, summer 2026 saw the expansion of our culinary family with the launch of 31 Market Place.
Located right in Hexham’s historic market square, guests enjoyed Italian-inspired light bites, a selection of curated sharing plates and chilled wine in what quickly became one of the town’s favourite outdoor spots. Back at the hotel, our front terrace stayed buzzing all season long with aperitifs and spritzes served under the summer sun.
Hexham came alive with vibrant events in 2026. From open-air performances in the Abbey grounds to local arts exhibitions at the Queen’s Hall Arts Centre, the town proved once again why it’s frequently voted one of England’s favorite market towns. Visitors flocked to Hexham to experience:

Dining – 31 Market Place will be expanding the lunch offering to include Brunch, served from 10am-3pm, Tuesday to Saturday. At The Beaumont Hotel we will be adding more new favourites to our menus, like our recently added Steak Frites.
